Regular Season Round 14: Mackay M. - Sunshine CP 111-89

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Mackay Meteors as it allowed them to take a leadership position in League. Mackay Meteors smashed 5th ranked Phoenix at home 111-89. Mackay Meteors looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Phoenix's players. American forward Bryce Washington (198-96, college: La-Lafayette) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Chris Cedar (188-88) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Five Mackay Meteors players scored in double figures. Mackay Meteors' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Eric McAlister (204-90, college: Stony Brook) replied with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds and guard Darnell Robateau (185, college: Cochise CC) added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Phoenix. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Phoenix at the other side dropped to the sixth place with two games lost. Phoenix will play next round against South West Metro Pirates trying to get back on the winning streak. Mackay Meteors will try to continue on its current victory against thirteenth ranked Seahawks in Runaway Bay.
