Regular Season Round 14: Cockburn C. - Geraldton B. 65-99

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Cougars (3-12) were outleveled by fourth ranked Buccaneers (11-4) in Hamilton Hill 99-65 on Sunday. Buccaneers dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Cougars' 26. They outrebounded Cougars 50-36 including a 38-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Buccaneers looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Deangelo Isby (196-96, college: Utah St., agency: Haylett Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import power forward Liam Hunt (201-95, college: Hope International) contributed with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Buccaneers players scored in double figures. Swingman Gavin Field (202-89, college: W.Georgia) replied with 18 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Jakob Knight (194-97) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Cougars. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Buccaneers moved-up to third place in League. Loser Cougars keep the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. Buccaneers will face league's second-placed Senators in Perth in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cougars will play on the road against Tigers (#10) in Willetton and hope to win that game.
