Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Sturt Sabres (2-11) lost to fifth ranked Noarlunga City Southern Tigers (9-3) in Pasadena 76-90 on Sunday. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Sturt Sabres' 30. Sturt Sabres were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman CJ Turnage (201-95, college: Saginaw Valley) orchestrated the victory by scoring 35 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import forward Devin Gilligan (196-93, college: S.New Hampshire) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Nikolas Desantis replied with 14 points and 5 rebounds and Dylan Rawson added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Sturt Sabres. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers maintains fifth position in League with 9-3 record. Loser Sturt Sabres dropped to the eleventh place with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
