Regular Season Round 2: U.Catolica - Los Leones 97-39

The biggest surprise of round 2 in LNB Centro took place in Santiago where host U.Catolica (1-0) crushed Los Leones (0-1) 97-39 on Sunday evening. U.Catolica dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Los Leones' 26. They outrebounded Los Leones 55-24 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. U.Catolica looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Los Leones' players. The best player for the winners was center Aitor Pickett (203-99) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Lucas Marquez chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Four U.Catolica players scored in double figures. Guard Cristobal Medina (-0) produced 12 points and Eduardo Lugo (-1) added 10 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Los Leones will play next round against strong Quilicura trying to make it back to the top of the standings. U.Catolica will try to continue on its current victory against Stadio Italiano. It will be extra interesting game as Stadio Italiano is their local rival from Santiago.
