Regular Season Round 17: Cavaliers - Warriors 74-75

Date: June 13, 2019
Fifth ranked Warriors (4-5) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging second-ranked Bridgetown (7-2) 75-74 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Bridgetown. Warriors forced 22 Bridgetown turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. International forward Justin Pile (196-97) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Nicholia Williams contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. Four Warriors players scored in double figures. Center Joel Hunte answered with 23 points and 4 steals and American power forward Granville Gittens (198, college: Baruch) added 7 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Bridgetown. Bridgetown's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Warriors have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Pinelands. Defending champion Bridgetown keeps the second position with two games lost. Warriors will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Bridgetown will play against the league's leader Bulls and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
