Regular Season Round 13: Anhui W. - Henan 121-112

The game between third ranked Henan (8-4) and sixth ranked Anhui W. (8-4) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Henan was defeated by Anhui W. in a tough game in Anhui 112-121. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Henan. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Henan won third quarter 35-32. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Anhui W. made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Henan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Montenegrin point guard Taylor Rochestie (185-85, college: WSU) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 8 assists. American power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Pensack Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Anhui W.'s coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) answered with 42 points (!!!) and 6 assists and American Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) added 28 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Henan. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Anhui W. moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Henan. Anhui W. is looking forward to face Hefei (#8) in Nanjin in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Henan will play on the road against Luoyang (#13) and is hoping to win this game.
