Important game to mention about took place in East Burwood. Second ranked Spectres (10-3) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 4th ranked Tigers (8-5) 81-80 on Sunday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Simon Conn (206-83, college: Gardner-Webb) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds. Sam McDonald (-84) contributed with 16 points and 5 assists for the winners. Five Spectres players scored in double figures. The former international forward Dane Pineau (206-94, college: St.Mary's, CA) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and M Wells added 16 points in the effort for Tigers. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Spectres maintains second position in League with 10-3 record having just one point less than leader Mackay M. Tigers at the other side dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. Spectres will play against Waverley Falcons (#7) in Mount Waverley in the next round where they are favorite. Tigers will play at home against BA CoE and hope to get back on the winning track.
