Regular Season Round 17: Warwick S. - Perry Lakes H. 76-100
Date: June 21, 2019
There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Hawks (12-7) rolled over 4th placed Senators (13-6) in Perth 100-76 on Friday. Hawks shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Guard Ryan Smith (192-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 8 rebounds. The former international forward Ben Purser (200-90, college: Augusta) contributed with 17 points and 4 assists for the winners. Nigerian-American forward Robert Anshila (199-86, college: Ft.Hays State) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Caleb Davis (206-95, college: Saginaw Valley) added 17 points in the effort for Senators. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hawks maintains sixth place in League with 12-7 record. Loser Senators dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Hawks will face Eagles (#11) in Morley in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Senators will play at home against Slammers (#14) and hope to win that game.
