Regular Season Round 7: Saskatchewan R. - Niagara RL 83-94

An interesting game for Niagara RL (7-2) which played road game in Saskatoon against their biggest opponent Saskatchewan R. (6-4). First ranked Niagara RL managed to get a 11-point victory 94-83. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Saskatchewan R.. They outrebounded Saskatchewan R. 47-35 including 38 on the defensive glass. Niagara RL brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a great evening for guard Trae Bell-Haynes (188-95, college: Vermont) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Dorian Pinson (196, college: Lincoln Memorial) helped adding 11 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side American guard Bruce Massey (190, college: MTSU) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import forward Tavrion Dawson (188, college: CS Northridge) scored 22 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Niagara RL maintains first place with 7-2 record. Saskatchewan R. at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. Niagara RL will play against Edmonton S. (#4) at home in the next round. Saskatchewan R. will play against Fraser Valley B. and hopes to get back on the winning track.
