Regular Season Round 4: Welcome - Cordon 65-80

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo: Cordon (#4) and Atletico Welcome (#7). Atletico Welcome was defeated at home 65-80 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Cordon outrebounded Atletico Welcome 39-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Emiliano Gonzalez (198-88) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and American forward Perris Blackwell (205-91, college: Washington, agency: Interperformances) who added 16 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Five Cordon players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Arlando Cook (203-95, college: Arkansas) responded with 23 points and 9 rebounds and guard Juan Garbarino (185-89) scored 10 points and 8 assists. Atletico Welcome's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cordon (2-0) moved-up to third place, which they share with Miramar. Atletico Welcome at the other side dropped to the eighth position with two games lost. They share it with Lagomar and Danubio. Cordon will play against Tabare (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Atletico Welcome's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena 25 de Agosto.
