There was an upset in Makati where 4th placed Alaska Aces (4-4) were defeated by tenth ranked SM Beermen (2-3) 119-107 on Friday. SM Beermen looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Alaska Aces were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was naturalized American guard Alex Cabagnot (183-82, college: Hawaii-Hilo) who scored 31 points and 6 assists. American power forward Charles Rhodes (203-85, college: Mississippi St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds.
