The game between closely ranked teams ended with 11th ranked Eagles' (6-14) road loss to tenth ranked Suns (8-11) in Kalamunda 112-122 on Saturday. Suns shot 62.2 percent from the field and made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Suns had a 27-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Suns looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Eagles' players. American swingman Joshua Braun (193-94, college: GCU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 37 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Javion Blake (190, college: Washburn) contributed with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 5 rebounds and 14 assists for the winners. Suns' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Drew Williamson (196-83, college: MSU Denver) answered with 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Cameron Williams (185-95, college: MSU Denver) added 26 points, 7 assists and 6 steals (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) in the effort for Eagles. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Suns moved-up to ninth place in League. Loser Eagles keep the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Suns will face higher ranked Giants (#7) in Kalgoorlie in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Eagles will play on the road against Hawks (#6) in Floreat and hope to win that game.
