There was no surprise when 9th ranked Redbacks (8-12) were outleveled by first ranked Wanneroo (17-4) in Joondalup 99-71 on Saturday. Wanneroo looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Guamanian-American guard Earnest Ross (198-91, college: Missouri, agency: Haylett Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. American swingman Ridell Camidge (192-96, college: Oklahoma City) contributed with 26 points for the winners. Power forward Isaac Gattorna-Hargrave (203-99) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Marshall Nelson (188-94, college: Wayland Baptist) added 10 points in the effort for Redbacks. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Wanneroo maintains first place in League with 17-4 record. Loser Redbacks dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. Wanneroo will face Tigers (#8) in Willetton in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Redbacks will play on the road against Flames in Rockingham and hope to win that game.
