Very predictable result when first ranked Cougars (15-1) won against 7th ranked Devils (5-12) in Werribee 105-89 on Saturday. They outrebounded Devils 52-34 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Adrian Tomada orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Dillon Stith (200-92, college: St.Vincent) contributed with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Cougars' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Konor Kulas (201-94, college: S.Dakota Mines) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 17 rebounds and 5 blocks and the other American import David Shepard (201-94, college: Lindenwood-Bellev.) added 21 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Devils. Four Cougars and five Devils players scored in double figures. Cougars maintains first place in League with 15-1 record. Loser Devils keep the seventh position with 12 games lost. Cougars will face league's second-placed Hume City Broncos in Tullamarine in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Devils will play at home against Cavaliers (#3) and hope to win that game.
