Regular Season Round 17: Kilsyth C. - Nunawading S. 99-87

Date: June 22, 2019
There was a small surprise when fourth ranked Kilsyth Cobras (9-5) defeated at home second-ranked Spectres (10-5) 99-87 on Saturday. Kilsyth Cobras looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. New Zealand power forward Tohi Smith-Milner (206-95, college: Polk State CC) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Peter Hooley (193-92, college: Albany) contributed with a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Four Kilsyth Cobras players scored in double figures. Costas Hronopoulos answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Simon Conn (206-83, college: Gardner-Webb) added 22 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Spectres. Spectres' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Kilsyth Cobras maintains fourth place in League with 9-5 record. Loser Spectres keep the second position with five games lost. Kilsyth Cobras will face Dandenong Rangers (#8) on the road in the next round. Spectres will play against Diamond Valley Eagles (#9) in Greensborough and hope to win that game.
