Very expected game when 8th ranked Woodville Warriors (5-10) lost to fourth ranked Noarlunga City Southern Tigers (11-4) in Flinders Park 96-108 on Saturday. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers outrebounded Woodville Warriors 39-28 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Woodville Warriors were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman CJ Turnage (201-95, college: Saginaw Valley) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import forward Devin Gilligan (196-93, college: S.New Hampshire) contributed with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds for the winners. Forward Luke Stanbridge (192-90) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and guard James Boonstoppel (188-89, college: Mt.Mercy) added 27 points and 4 assists in the effort for Woodville Warriors. Five Noarlunga City Southern Tigers and four Woodville Warriors players scored in double figures. Woodville Warriors' coach tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers maintains fourth place in League with 11-4 record. Loser Woodville Warriors keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers will face Sturt Sabres (#9) in Pasadena in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Woodville Warriors will play on the road against the league's leader Mount Gambier Pioneers in Mt Gambier and hope to win that game.
