Everything went according to plan in Perth where sixth ranked Senators (14-7) beat 14th ranked Slammers (1-20) 89-82 on Sunday. They outrebounded Slammers 38-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. Forward Caleb Davis (206-95, college: Saginaw Valley) scored 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Cody Ellis (202-90, college: St.Louis) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Michael Lay (179-84, college: Concordia, OR) with 29 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and his fellow American import swingman Tyler Livingston (198-94, college: UMass Lowell) scored 21 points. Five Senators and four Slammers players scored in double figures. Senators maintains sixth position in League with 14-7 record. Loser Slammers keep the fourteenth place with 20 games lost. Senators will face Suns (#8) in Kalamunda in the next round. Slammers will play at home against the league's leader Wanneroo (#1) and hope to win that game.
