Regular Season Round 18: Knox R. - Ringwood H. 114-97
Date: June 30, 2019
There was no surprise in Wantirna South where 17th ranked Ringwood Hawks (5-12) were defeated by thirteenth ranked Knox Raiders (7-9) 114-97 on Sunday. American guard Mike Rose (193-87, college: EKU) scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Cadarian Raines (206-90, college: Virginia Tech) chipped in 18 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Matthew Fennell (196) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and center Adrien Sturt (209-86, college: Snow CC) scored 24 points. Five Knox Raiders and four Ringwood Hawks players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Knox Raiders moved-up to eleventh place in League. Loser Ringwood Hawks keep the seventeenth position with 12 games lost. Knox Raiders will face league's second-placed Spectres in East Burwood in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Ringwood Hawks will play at home against Geelong Supercats (#3) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
