Regular Season Round 7: CDE Esp. Talca - Aleman 96-65

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Talca. Leader Espanol de Talca faced 3rd placed Aleman. Host Espanol de Talca (5-0) smashed guests from Puerto Varas (1-4) 96-65. Espanol de Talca outrebounded Aleman 39-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Aleman's players. It was a great evening for the former international Gianncarlo Caraboni (-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 5 assists. The former international Samuel Bravo (194-82) helped adding 14 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Espanol de Talca players scored in double figures. At the losing side Venezuelan center Sergio Mijares (-97) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and forward Jonathan Alvial (188-88) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Espanol de Talca maintains first place in Centro with 5-0 record. Loser Aleman keeps the third position with four games lost. Espanol de Talca will meet league's second-placed U.Concepcion in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aleman will play against Estudiantes SP and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
