Rather predictable result when ninth ranked Bendigo Braves (9-8) edged at home 13th ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (7-11) 84-82 on Saturday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Bendigo Braves outrebounded Diamond Valley Eagles 48-32 including 19 on the offensive glass. American forward Ray Turner (206-90, college: Texas A&M) fired a double-double by scoring 31 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized South Sudanese swingman Mathiang Muo (196-87, college: Charleston So.) chipped in 17 points. American forward Logan Hovey (200-94, college: SW Baptist) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and Nigerian-American guard Anthony Odunsi (193-92, college: Houston Baptist, agency: Haylett Sports) added 17 points respectively for lost side. Bendigo Braves moved-up to eighth place in League. Loser Diamond Valley Eagles dropped to the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. Bendigo Braves will face Knox Raiders (#11) in Wantirna South in the next round. Diamond Valley Eagles will play at home against NW Tasmania Thunder and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
