An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in San Pedro. Second ranked U.Concepcion faced 4th placed Estudiantes SP. Guests from (4-1) smashed host Estudiantes SP (0-4) 117-55. U.Concepcion dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Estudiantes SP's 34 and had 20 for 32 from the free-throw line, while Estudiantes SP only scored one point from the stripe. They outrebounded Estudiantes SP 53-17 including a 23-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. U.Concepcion shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Estudiantes SP's players. 25 personal fouls committed by Estudiantes SP helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for Venezuelan center Carlos Milano (-85) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 21 rebounds. Forward Marcelo Villagran (184-88) came up with 12 points and guard Kevin San Martin (-0) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Estudiantes SP in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. U.Concepcion maintains second place in Centro with 4-1 record behind leader Puente Alto. Estudiantes SP at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. U.Concepcion's next round opponent will be league's leader Espanol de Talca at home and it will be for sure the game of the week. Estudiantes SP will play against Aleman in Puerto Varas and hopes to get finally their first victory.
