The game in Henan was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Chongqing (12-9) played at the court of sixth ranked Henan (13-8). Henan defeated Chongqing 135-121 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 135-121. Henan shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 52.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 steals. American Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) accounted for 28 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. American Brandon Brown (201-85, college: CS San Bernar.) came up with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 16 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and forward Yuxiang Gao (195-93) added 26 points and 4 assists respectively for Chongqing in the defeat. Five Henan and four Chongqing players scored in double figures. Henan moved-up to fifth place. Loser Chongqing dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. Henan will meet Wuhan (#9) in the next round. Chongqing will play against Hefei in Nanjin and hope to secure a win.
