Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Senators (15-8) outplayed 12th ranked Eagles (6-18) in Perth 102-72 on Saturday. Senators looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Eagles' players. American guard Justin King (196-89, college: TRU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Caleb Davis (206-95, college: Saginaw Valley) contributed with 22 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Senators players scored in double figures. Jarrad Anastasio replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Shaquille Maharaj (196, college: Camosun) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Eagles. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Senators maintains sixth position in League with 15-8 record. Loser Eagles keep the twelfth place with 18 games lost. Senators will face higher ranked Flames (#3) in Rockingham in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Eagles will play on the road against Giants (#9) in Kalgoorlie and hope to win that game.
