Regular Season Round 20: NGC Seahawks - SD Spartans 106-91

There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Seahawks (5-11) won against their close opponent Brisbane Spartans (4-9) in Runaway Bay 106-91 on Saturday. Seahawks looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Forward Cameron Goldfinch (201, college: Newman) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points. Swingman Tom Howard (200-95) contributed with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Seahawks' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Chris Whitehead (175-92, college: Bellarmine) replied with 32 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Jacob Allen added 25 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Brisbane Spartans. Five Seahawks and four Brisbane Spartans players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Seahawks went down to twelfth position (League) due to points difference. Loser Brisbane Spartans dropped to the thirteenth place with nine games lost. Seahawks will have a break next round. Brisbane Spartans will play on the road against Mackay Meteors (#5) and hope to win that game.
