Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Waverley Falcons (10-8) defeated 14th ranked Knox Raiders (7-12) in Mount Waverley 83-73 on Sunday. American forward Deondre McWhorter (203-93, college: Georgetown, KY) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Naturalized American swingman Bennie Lewis (203-87, college: Benedict) contributed with 26 points and 4 assists for the winners. Worth to mention Lewis played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Four Waverley Falcons players scored in double figures. American forward Cadarian Raines (206-90, college: Virginia Tech) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and guard Damon Heuir (189-91, college: S.Utah) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Knox Raiders. Knox Raiders' coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Waverley Falcons maintains eighth position in League with 10-8 record.
