Regular Season Round 21: USC Rip City - Sunshine CP 98-82

Everything could happen in Sippy Downs at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Rip and 8th ranked Phoenix had identical 6-8 record. This time Rip used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Cotton Tree 98-82 on Saturday night. Rip looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Phoenix was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman Jerron Jamerson (193, college: Goshen) stepped up and scored 36 points (!!!) for the winners and his fellow American import guard Jalen Bradley (185-93, college: ORU) chipped in 23 points and 7 assists. The best for the losing side was guard Darnell Robateau (185, college: Cochise CC) with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Eric McAlister (204-90, college: Stony Brook) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Phoenix's coach gave the chance to play for ten players seeing no chance for a win. Rip (7-8) moved-up to eighth place in League. Loser Phoenix dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. Rip will face Ipswich Force (#11) in Booval in the next round. Phoenix will play on the road against Thunder in Loganholme and hope to win that game.
