Regular Season Round 11: Edmonton S. - Hamilton HB 105-103

The most exciting game of round 11 in the CEBL took place in Edmonton. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Hamilton HB (8-8) to second ranked Edmonton S. (11-4) 105-103 in the game for the second place. Edmonton S. made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Edmonton S. outrebounded Hamilton HB 40-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Travis Daniels (202-92, college: Mississippi St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import guard Xavier Moon (188, college: Morehead St., agency: Interperformances) helped adding 19 points and 6 assists. Guard Xavier Rathan-Mayes (193-94, college: FSU) responded with 37 points (!!!) and American point guard Ricky Tarrant (188-93, college: Memphis) scored 20 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Edmonton S. have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place with 11-4 record having just one point less than leader Niagara RL. Hamilton HB at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost. Edmonton S. are looking forward to face league's leader Niagara RL at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hamilton HB will play against Saskatchewan R. in Saskatoon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
