A very close game took place in Sao Paulo between Pinheiros and Osasco B.. Pinheiros (1-0) got a very close home victory over Osasco B. (0-2). Pinheiros managed to escape with a 2-point win 74-72 on Friday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Pinheiros made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was guard Isaac Goncalves (196-90) who scored 22 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!). American point guard Kenny Dawkins (175-87, college: Lamar) chipped in 8 points and 11 assists. American point guard Dontrell Brite (175-94, college: Mount Olive) produced 17 points and guard Rodrigo Italo (193-94) added 5 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for the guests. Four Osasco B. players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game.
