A very close game took place in Alexandria between Maitland Mustangs and Sydney City Comets. Fourth ranked Maitland Mustangs (16-6) got a very close victory on the road over 5th ranked Sydney City Comets (14-8). Maitland Mustangs managed to escape with a 3-point win 76-73 on Saturday evening. Maitland Mustangs forced 24 Sydney City Comets turnovers. It was a great evening for Jack Edwards who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Isaiah Ellis (203-95, college: Chico St., agency: Interperformances) helped adding 16 points and 10 rebounds. Power forward Tom Dawson (197) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 20 rebounds and naturalized American guard Indiana Faithfull (193-91, college: West Liberty) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Sydney City Comets players scored in double figures. Maitland Mustangs moved-up to third place in League. Loser Sydney City Comets dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
