Regular Season Round 4: Paulistano - Sao Jose 88-75

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Sao Jose (1-1) in Sao Paulo on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by Paulistano (3-0) 88-75. Paulistano outrebounded Sao Jose 43-21 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Eddy Carvalho (196-87) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American Dominique Coleman (198-88, college: Francis Marion) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Argentinian swingman Guido Mariani (193-94) replied with 15 points and 5 assists and the former international guard Eduardo Machado (193-82) added 16 points and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) in the effort for Sao Jose. Five Paulistano and four Sao Jose players scored in double figures. Sao Jose's coach Paulo Cezar Martins rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Paulistano have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Sao Jose at the other side keeps the fifth place with one game lost.
