An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Seattle. First ranked Mystics faced 3rd placed Storm. Guests from Washington (18-7) smashed host Storm (13-12) 88-59. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Storm. Mystics made 21-of-21 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Mystics especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Swingman Elena Delle-Donne (196-89, college: Delaware) stepped up and scored 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and power forward Tianna Hawkins (191-91, college: Maryland) chipped in 14 points. Five Mystics players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Natasha Howard (190-91, college: FSU, agency: LBM Management) responded with 24 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and center Mercedes Russell (198-95, college: Tennessee) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mystics have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 18-7 record. Defending champion Storm keeps the third position with 12 games lost. Mystics will meet at home Lynx (#4) in the next round. Storm will play against the league's second-placed Sun and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
