No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Corinthians (4-1) beat on the road 9th ranked Rio Claro (1-3) 73-69. Rio Claro was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Bahamas David Nesbitt (200-91, college: St.Thomas, FL) who led his team to a victory scoring 12 points and 6 rebounds. Wesley Ferreira (201-95) helped adding 11 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side American point guard Korie Lucious (180-89, college: Iowa St.) responded with 20 points and the former international power forward Gerson Santo (206-91, college: Colorado St.) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Rio Claro players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Corinthians. They moved-up to third place. Rio Claro lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. Corinthians' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Sao Paulo to the arena .
