Regular Season Round 25: KCCA Lions - KIU Titans 55-65

Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Kampala: KIU Titans (#6) and KCCA Lions (#9). KCCA Lions were defeated at home 55-65 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of KCCA Lions. KIU Titans forced 20 KCCA Lions turnovers. Guard Nunda Kiryowa fired 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. DR Congolese guard Micheal Bwanga chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Tanzanian power forward Kijogoo Mwalimu produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Francis Mbuyi added 9 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. KCCA Lions' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. KIU Titans maintains sixth place with 12-8 record. KCCA Lions at the other side dropped to the eighth position with 13 games lost. KIU Titans' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kampala JKL Dolphins.
