Regular Season Round 19: KCCA Leopards - UMU Ravens 68-41

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kampala: KCCA Leopards (#2) and UMU Ravens (#8). KCCA Leopards (15-1) crushed visiting UMU Ravens (4-13) by 27 points 68-41. Worth to mention a great performance of Kenyan guard Cynthia Irankunda (168-91) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. The former international center Martha Soigi (185-86) contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Center Vicky Akello (170-96) answered with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Pauline Nabatanzi (168-97) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for UMU Ravens. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. KCCA Leopards have an impressive series of fifteen victories in a row. They maintain second place with 15-1 record behind leader JKL Dolphins. UMU Ravens lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 13 games lost. KCCA Leopards are looking forward to face YMCA Hamstars (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. UMU Ravens will play against Nkumba LM and are hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
