Regular Season Round 27: Falcons - Warriors 41-80

Another exciting game was again a derby match of two local teams from Kampala: Warriors (#3) and Falcons (#10). Falcons were crushed at home by 39 points 41-80 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Warriors held Falcons to an opponent 23.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Warriors forced 22 Falcons turnovers and outrebounded them 56-36 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for guard Chris Omanye (183-94) who led his team to a victory with 22 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Forward Samad Imran (-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 21 rebounds for the winners. Four Warriors players scored in double figures. Swingman Henry Mbaziira answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and guard Douglas Uwizera (186) added 3 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Falcons. The victory was the third consecutive win for Warriors. They maintain third place with 17-4 record having just two points less than leader UCU Canons. Falcons lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 18 games lost.
