Regular Season Round 10: Curitiba - Cearense 70-64

Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Curitiba (5-4) won against at home 10th ranked Cearense (1-7) 70-64 on Thursday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Curitiba forced 19 Cearense turnovers and outrebounded them 43-32 including 19 on the offensive glass. Point guard Lucas Ferreira (175-1) notched 23 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Daniel Pereira (192-99) supported him with 9 points and 13 rebounds. Curitiba's coach used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Even 20 points by guard Rafael Das-Neves (180-99) did not help to save the game for Cearense. Guard Joao-Gabriel Aguiar (184-2) added 11 points and 4 assists for lost side. Curitiba maintains sixth position with 5-4 record. Cearense lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh place with seven games lost. Curitiba will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cearense will play against Minas (#12) in Belo Horizonte and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
