Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Sao Paulo: Pinheiros (#2) and Franca (#3). Franca was smashed at home by 19 points 57-76 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Franca. They outrebounded Franca 41-26 including a 30-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Jonas Buffat (191-0) scored 16 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Maozinha Pereira (200-0) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Pinheiros players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Guilherme Marsaro (194-2) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Edu Marilia (207-1) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pinheiros (8-0) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Franca at the other side keeps the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Corinthians. Pinheiros will play against Corinthians (#4) in the next round. Franca will play against Country and hopes to get back on the winning track.
