There was no surprise when 12th ranked Cearense (1-9) was crushed at home by ninth ranked Coritiba (3-7) 92-59 on Sunday. Coritiba dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Cearense's 24 and made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Coritiba forced 24 Cearense turnovers and outrebounded them 47-28 including a 34-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Henrique Kirsten (195-99) who scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Felipe Dias (193-0) chipped in 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Rafael Das-Neves (180-99) who recorded 17 points, 6 assists and 5 steals and Caio Brito (-3) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Coritiba maintains ninth position with 3-7 record.
