No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Franca (9-3) crushed 12th ranked Cearense (1-10) in Sao Paulo 89-39 on Monday. Franca dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Cearense's 20. Franca forced 36 Cearense turnovers and outrebounded them 41-28 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Cearense's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Franca made 7 blocks. Quite impressive performance for power forward Edu Marilia (207-1) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Ze Oliveira (180-1) contributed with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Franca players scored in double figures. Franca's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Guard Joao-Gabriel Aguiar (184-2) answered with 9 points and 5 rebounds and Caio Brito (-3) added 8 points in the effort for Cearense. Franca maintains fourth place with 9-3 record.
