Eighth-ranked Praia (3-7) used its home court advantage to challenge leader Pinheiros (11-0) in Vitoria on Monday. The visitors from Sao Paulo managed to secure only three-point victory 72-69. However their fans expected much easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of Maozinha Pereira (200-0) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Jonas Buffat (191-0) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Forward Matheus Vicente (188-99) answered with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Wender Reis (202-99) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Praia. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Pinheiros have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-0 record. Praia lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Coritiba. Pinheiros are looking forward to face Curitiba (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Praia will play against Country in Maringa and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
