Regular Season Round 15: Rio Claro - Paulistano 73-74

The most exciting game of round 15 in the Paulista took place in Rio Claro. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 8th ranked Rio Claro (4-5) to seventh ranked Paulistano (6-3) 74-73 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Rio Claro. It was a great evening for Victor Camilo (203-97) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 6 rebounds. Eddy Carvalho (196-87) helped adding 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Paulistano players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Argentinian Enzo Ruiz (193-88) with 21 points and 4 assists and American point guard Korie Lucious (180-89, college: Iowa St.) scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Rio Claro's coach Fernando Penna rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Paulistano moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Bauru and Corinthians. Rio Claro at the other side dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. Paulistano is looking forward to face Paschoalotto/Bauru (#6) at home in the next round. Rio Claro will play against Corinthians in Sao Paulo and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
