Regular Season Round 3: Pampichi - GMS 61-73

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Pampichi (2-1) in Amatitlan on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by GMS (1-2) 73-61. It was a great evening for point guard Anthony Guerra (178-97) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Fabian Urrutia (-3) helped adding 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. GMS's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Enrique Samayoa (193-82) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized American power forward Freddy Fernandez (197-92) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. GMS is looking forward to face ELOHIM in Chimaltenango in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pampichi will play against Olmeca and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
