Regular Season Round 2: Yamagata - Fukushima 85-73

Round 2 most important game was a defeat of Fukushima (1-1). They were defeated by Yamagata (1-1) 85-73 on Sunday night. Yamagata made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Stephen Hurt (211-93, college: Kansas St.) had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Torian Graham (196-93, college: ASU) chipped in 25 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) during the contest. American forward Shaheed Davis (206-94, college: UCF) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds and point guard Shinya Murakami (172-91) scored 18 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fukushima will play next round against strong Gunma trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Yamagata will try to continue on its current victory against Aomori Watts on the road.
