Regular Season Round 4: Toyoda Gosei - Tokyo HT 68-65

A very close game took place in Aichi between Toyoda Gosei and Tokyo HT. Top-ranked Toyoda Gosei (4-0) got a very close home victory over 7th ranked Tokyo HT (1-3). Toyoda Gosei managed to escape with a 3-point win 68-65 on Saturday evening. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Forward JD Weatherspoon (198-92, college: Toledo) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Luke Evans (203-91, college: CBU) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Marcellus Sommerville (200-82, college: Bradley) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Alex Jones (206-87, college: Seattle) added 15 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Toyoda Gosei have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Okayama. Tokyo HT lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with three games lost. They share the position with 6 other teams. Toyoda Gosei will meet league's leader Okayama on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tokyo HT will have a break next round.
