Regular Season Round 2: Enea Astoria - Polski Cukier 80-97

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Enea Astoria (1-1) in Bydgoszcz on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Twarde Pierniki (2-0) 97-80. Twarde Pierniki dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Enea Astoria's 36. 25 personal fouls committed by Enea Astoria helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Keith Hornsby (193-92, college: LSU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. The other American import point guard Chris Wright (185-89, college: Georgetown) contributed with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Twarde Pierniki players scored in double figures. International Michal Nowakowski (202-88) replied with 15 points and American point guard A.J Walton (184-90, college: Baylor) added 9 points and 7 assists in the effort for Enea Astoria. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Twarde Pierniki is looking forward to face Stelmet Enea BC (#10) in Zielona Gora in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Enea Astoria will play on the road against Legia (#14) in Warszawa and is hoping to win this game.
