Regular Season Round 3: Tabirako - Pas Pielagos 79-86

Not a big story in a game when Tabirako (0-2) lost to Pas Pielagos (2-0) in Durango 79-86 on Saturday. Pas Pielagos dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Tabirako's 30. They outrebounded Tabirako 43-24 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for point guard Alex Ramon (186-93, college: Colgate) who led his team to a victory with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. American forward Matthew Dahlen (201-95, college: St.Martin's) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Center Xabier Arrotajauregi (-97) answered with 19 points and center Xabier Calle (-98) added 11 points and 5 assists in the effort for Tabirako. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tabirako's coach Julen Berrocal let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Pas Pielagos will face Nissan Burgos (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tabirako will play against La Fecha (#7) in Arroyo Encomienda and hopes to get finally their first victory.
