Regular Season Round 3: Valencia 2 - Puerto Sagunto 92-59

Date: October 5, 2019
There was no surprise when Puerto Sagunto (1-1) was outleveled on the road by Valencia-2 (1-1) 92-59 on Saturday. Valencia-2 outrebounded Puerto Sagunto 48-31 including a 37-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Puerto Sagunto's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Valencia-2 made 9 blocks. Puerto Sagunto was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Icelandic guard Hilmar Henningsson (194-0, agency: Duran International) who led his team to a victory with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Center Alonso Faure (205-2) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Five Valencia-2 players scored in double figures. Swingman Carlos Sales (194-98) answered with 24 points and 9 rebounds and forward Vicente Soriano (194-89) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Puerto Sagunto. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Valencia-2 will face Lliria (#4) on the road in the next round. Puerto Sagunto will play against Tabernes and hope to win that game.
