Regular Season Round 3: Zamora - Gijon Basket 78-90

No shocking result in a game when Gijon Basket (2-0) beat on the road Zamora (0-2) 90-78 on Sunday. Gijon Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Zamora's 26. They outrebounded Zamora 39-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for forward Fernando Fernandez (201-89, college: Hannibal-LG, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Carlos Suarez (186-99) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Forward Juan-Manuel Robles (194-96) answered with 21 points and point guard Kilian Riverol (175-95) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Zamora. Five Zamora players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gijon Basket will face PBB (#6) in Porrino in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Zamora will play on the road against Chantada (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
