Regular Season Round 6: Sendai 89ers - Fukushima 65-67

Important game to mention about took place in Sendai. Sixth ranked Fukushima (2-4) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging second-best Sendai 89ers (3-3) 67-65 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Sendai 89ers. Sendai 89ers were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for South African center Tshilidzi Nephawe (208-89, college: N.Mexico St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 20 rebounds. American forward Shaheed Davis (206-94, college: UCF) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) replied with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) added 10 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Sendai 89ers. Sendai 89ers' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Fukushima moved-up to third place, which they share with Ehime OV and Kumamoto V. Sendai 89ers at the other side keep the second position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Fukushima will play against league's leader Tokyo EX at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sendai 89ers will play against Orange Vikings in Matsuyama and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
