Regular Season Round 6: Kagawa FA - Tokyo Z 79-67

There was no surprise in Takamatsu where bottom-ranked Tokyo Z (0-6) was defeated by second ranked Kagawa FA (4-2) 79-67 on Sunday. Kagawa FA dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Z's 26 and made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Tokyo Z 39-27 including 32 on the defensive glass. Kagawa FA looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) who had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Kyle Casey (201-90, college: Harvard) who recorded 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Takumi Nihira (191-94) added 14 points respectively. Kagawa FA have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 4-2 record behind leader Tokyo EX, which they share with FE Nagoya. Loser Tokyo Z still closes the standings with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
